Grandparents Day is a long-standing, cherished tradition here at Blue Ridge Christian School. Each year in the fall, nearly 200 grandparents (or grandparent stand-ins) visit the Bridgewater Campus for a morning of activities designed especially for them. Some come from states hundreds of miles away; some come from across the street. Some come to see the school for the first time; some have been faithfully coming to Grandparents Day for as many as 15 years! Some come remembering the days when they themselves attended school in this building. All of them come because there is at least one student at the school who is eagerly anticipating their arrival.
The festivities begin with an all-school program. After enjoying class performances from grades Pre-K through 3rd grade, the older students entertain with beautiful choir selections. Grandparents are then invited to visit the classrooms where they share activities and delicious snacks with their grandchildren. Photographers visit each room to capture memories in the making.
